Thursday 23rd February - walk *** Circuit from Felixstowe Ferry - cloudy
with cold northerly wind.
Poor Mag had another disturbed night and was once again up at 4 watching
old dramas on the TV, she then went for a 3 mile walk along the prom to
lift her spirits! Another cloudy day with a chilly wind from the north,
enough for a foil on the Stour but don’t fancy the long drive with Mag
injured, cold too for old bones! So, I did my exercises, then after lunch
we drove to Felixstowe Ferry for a nice circular walk heading back towards
Felixstowe first past the golf course with the wind on our backs. The tide
was high with nearly all the shingle banks under water with waves splashing
up down past The Dip. Then up the steps to the cliff top car park, past the
golf club house leading to Tomlin Bank which is lovely, loads of rushes,
rose hip bushes covered in large red berries and some blackthorn trees just
about to flower:) You come out on the River Deben path, past the delict
boats and through the boat yard and back to the van. We were out for an
hour and fifteen minutes covering 2.60 miles, certainly cleared the cobwebs
away :) Home for a well-deserved cuppa and a slice of the sponge I made
yesterday. Loads of wind coming but cold so will have a day with the lovely
Maeva tomorrow and wait for things to warm up again!
